My long awaited update is finally here. Sorry for the delay I’ve had other bloggers to harass annoy or hit upon.
As I stated on the prior posts the card really isn't the issue. I'm really asking to see what their action/reaction will be considering the H-word "situation". I got the following responses (yes I got 2) to my second request to remove my credit card info from the site. Both responses are essentially the same.
Effectively, since I would not want them (or any site really) holding on to any real card info (debit, credit, or refillable etc.) and their inability/interest, I have to post a phony number. The problem with that is what if I phony up a number and actually guess someone else’s real number?
Frankly, given the porous nature of web sites, I believe that PAST cc info (a.k.a. history of transactions) should not be kept accessible on inter/web/nets beyond the time limits required by credit card companies. I may write more on this later.
Their response was: I assume your referring to the "Billing History & Credit Card Info" page. Unfortunately Credit Card information cannot be removed but only updated.
Credit Card cannot be removed from the account for audit purposes however, we can block that number to avoid further payments from our entire network, if that is your preference.
All billing information is sent through a secured page to make certain it is safe when used on the site. If you are still concerned about your credit card security, we offer several payment alternatives to place your order.

Supreme Court ruling on online speech

Elonis v. United States is a case people here should pay attention to. SCOTUS ruled today that the case should be retried in the original lower court.
Part of an article at http://LesbianPersonals.com reads In his decision, Roberts didn’t rule on the First Amendment aspects of the case. Instead, the Court decided that it wasn’t enough under a federal law to assume that a “reasonable person” would regard the online statements as threatening, but that the law required proof of the defendant’s subjective intent to threaten for conviction.
Given things that have been ‘pissy’ here from time-to-time this should/may be something y’all pay some attention to.

A follow up to my request to have my credit card info removed from the site.
As I stated on the prior post the card really isn't the issue. I'm really asking to see what their action/reaction will be considering the "situation".
They sent me instructions, via email, on how to remove my card info from the site.
1. Log in. 2. Click on the "My Account" link. 3. Under the "Account" section click on "Billing History & Credit Card Info". 4. Scroll down and click edit. 5. Remove your credit card information and save.
It did not ‘Remove your credit card information’.
So I have sent Site Support the following = = = = = = = = = = = = = Hi,
I followed the instructions, they were easy, but did not eliminate MY card info. I cleared my credit card information on the page indicated – so the spaces were all blank. I then clicked save. I copied the following messages that were on the next page:
By the space for my name it read; Please verify that your name is entered exactly as it appears on your credit card. This information isonly used for credit card verification.
By the space for the card expiration date it read; Your credit card expiration date appears to be invalid. Please enter the correct expiration date for your card or try a different card. If your card has expired and you're waiting for your replacement card to be mailed to you, try adding one year to the expiration date and try again.
By the space for my address it read; Please make sure that you enter the address to which your credit card statements are sent. This information isonly used for credit card verification.
By the space for my credit card number it read; Your credit card does not appear to be valid. Please check your credit card number carefully and try again. If you don't have a credit card, you can still upgrade byfax or mail.
Also, my city, state, zip and country info would not go away.
I followed the instructions twice, with the same lack of requested and required result.
So, again, I want to completely remove my credit card info from the site. How do I do that?
Thank you

A situation going on in my life with someone (MG not from this site) for the last few years now, got me thinking. I really want to understand what she thinks and feels, how she got there, and why. It only drives me crazy when I am breathing.
I’m talking about beyond the surface stuff of shit that has happened in her past.
What if men and women all really wanted to understand, and be understood, by each other?

The current issue

The current issue involving this site, and the site’s reaction(s), are still an issue here. I try to look at things in a realistic way. So here it is.
First, so you understand where I am coming from. I am NOT defending their actions or any position they may or may not be in. The site should have been more forthcoming and faster with the news about the issue. A quicker announcement possibly could have saved some people some problems. Their action(s) and inaction(s) have brought their integrity into question more than the original problem. That said I never had high expectations of them, and certainly not security wise. I guess I am jaded enough to not believe any web site truly has my best interests in mind. They are a business; their primary focus is to make money – anything more is unfortunately unrealistic. Business ethics and laws are a whole other can of whatever. This is the world we have created by the political choices (votes) we make. Yet another can of whatever.
The original fault is with the thieves (can’t use the “H” word), and thieves is really what they are. They probably know more about what happened, what they got, how many profiles they got, etc. than anyone. People seem to be assuming this site found the problem on their own. I doubt that. Other, much larger, breaches have not necessarily been found by the merchant.
There have been comments about fixing the problem. There is no fix. Thieves keep finding ways to get around the latest “security”. That is now the nature of the online world. Any “fixes” are really temporary like Band-Aids. A little site like this cannot fight thieves who are continually working on ways to break into sites. Given the number of similar incidents on the net, a site as small as this one probably does not have the resources that a bank or government has. Yet, with the resources banks and governments do have, they too have had the same problems.
Regarding covering up the problem. The cover up is usually worse than the crime; I think most of us understand that. That said, we have all agreed to a Terms of Usage Agreement (ToU). Most of us don’t read it when we register on a web site but it is still a valid contract once we click on “I agree”. Contracts, for the vast part, are written in the favor of the company that is requiring your agreement. Effectively, you and I have agreed to participate under THEIR terms.
These blogs are on their site, which is their property, not the blogger’s. They are part of the attraction some people have to the site, which is a very small number in relation to all of the people who use the site. These blogs are not a requirement; not many, if any, sexually based sites have blogs. These blogs are not a product we have paid for or have some guarantee upon. It is the same with most any web site with a blogging feature. More simply put; their sandbox, their sand, their shovel, their rules – not ours.
Again, I am NOT defending their actions or any position they may or may not be in.
Questions, comments and corrections are welcome.

So this is a bit weird. The guy who blocked me earlier this week, y’all probably know who, posted a comment on my blog titled “Dude is gone now”. Nothing inappropriate, but it is a strange thing to do when he has blocked me. I try to respond/thank everyone who comments, but really . . . WTH.
And on probably the worst, hardest and saddest day of my life – on a blog about the situation that made me that sad – really
Why would anyone post on the blog of someone they have blocked? I know there is no explanation for this so I’m just sayn’.

Question for Women – Do you . . .
|

My question is: Do women feel like they “owe” a guy something when he opens doors, pays for a date, etc. Given my answer to the ‘Women’s Lib’ post I would like to know if I am in the ballpark. Which was: “I prefer to pay for dates out, maybe because I'm an "old" guy. The same goes of opening doors etc. Yes I know women can open doors but I just like to do nice things for them. Neither are done to make a woman feel like she owes me something.”
Yes, I know not all women are the same, so I am looking for some general input. I would really like to know what is going on inside your heads and/or hearts when a guy does these things. I’m not looking for a PC answer either.
I do those things because; I care about the woman I am with, I respect the woman I am with, I enjoy doing nice things for the woman I am with. I do not think she is weaker because I do them, I know they can.
Just a guy trying to figure y’all out.

I was going to spend the day outside with Dude today, but it’s been raining all day.
My ex also wants to spend some time with him and so do a couple neighbors; he is very popular in the neighborhood. So, since he isn't in pain, and the memorial service for a friend (in my posting about Alcohol) is also on Saturday, and schedule stuff, we have postponed the final vet appointment until Wednesday. He will get lots of love and outside time before he goes.
Now that I have gotten some food and water into him, via syringe, which I hate having to do to him, he has been more active. He also has eaten a little bit on his own today – crunchies yum.
So he and I will sniff the air and watch what is going on around our house (yes it is his house as much as mine). I will tell him that I love him a million times, scratch his ears and give him chin rubs.
