Wind tunnel.

My is a mad (in more ways than one) skydiver. He has done over 400 jumps so far.
Not far from where I live, a wind tunnel has been built, the first one in Australia.
Anyone for a cost, can go inside and get the feeling you get when you free fall, without having to go up in a tiny plane, then be silly enough to jump out.
The skydivers use it to perfect their free fall, and in 's case, perfect his formation work.
Below is a photo of him and his coach practicing. In a couple of weeks he'll be back with his fellow team mates to do a four way.................skydive formation, not the other thing you might be thinking of.
I dropped that many hints this week end that I would loooooooooooooove to give it a go. It's Mother's Day this Sunday, surly if I don't get a gift card, then there's birthday or Christmas.

It's time.

While changing the bed today, I decided it was time to bring out my fluffy doona, as the nights were getting cooler.
It was always my sons job to put the doonas into covers. Him being nearly 6ft, a couple of shakes and they were in.
Not so easy when you're only 5ft 2in.
So there I was, cover inside out, hands in opposite corners, now grab a corner of the doona, and flip and shake.....yeah right.
Climb up on the bed, shake like no tomorrow, and............ it wasn't happening.
Cat comes into the bedroom to see what all the swearing and commotion was about, just as I was giving it one almighty shake, got the fright of her life, went skidding across the tiles and into the safe haven of her cat box.
Building up a sweat at this stage, not got much puff at the moment.
One more shake and it's almost inside. Lay it on the bed, shove the last bit inside and do the poppers up.
You'll have to excuse me for a while, need a lay down.

Cravings.

During my pregnancies I never had cravings, but when I am unwell I always get them, and usually for something sweet.
Today the cravings got the better of me, so I had to come out of hibernation and go to the shops.
As well as wanting something sweet, because today's been on the cool side, I craved something hot.
I ended up getting some Cadbury Old Gold (dark chocolate) with a soft gooey peppermint filling, and some frozen Hash Browns.
Do you get cravings when you are unwell, or do you not feel like eating anything?

How I wish it was for fun tho.
But................ no. I haven't been well for a while now. Chest infection with a barking cough that would put a Great Dane to shame.
Off work this week, can't pass it onto the oldies, some would not be able to fight it as they are so frail.
Back for a week, then off for two weeks. Don't want to get sick then.
Feel free to send me flowers, chocolates, wine...............oppps, not suposed to drink while on antibiotics.............well, maybe just a small one. I'm sure any of the above would make me feel a little better.

I can't believe I'm finally going to get some. It's been so long, I've forgotten what it feels like.
My bed is going to get a pounding. It will be in use at times it's not been used for for a very long time.
I won't care what the weather is like, I'll be snug and cosy inside. Maybe throw in a bubble bath, candles and a nice glass of wine.
Only problem....I'll have to wait until the 12th of May, but that's not that far away.
I'll invite friends around, after all, the more the merrier. They can come and go all day, it will add to the fun.
Yes.................... I'm finally going to get some time off work. I've put in for a couple of weeks off.

There was this dreadful noise coming from next door. It was one of the playing or trying to play the recorder.
As a young , I wanted to learn to play one. Mum hated the sound so much, that when I wanted to play mine, I had to go to the bottom of our very long garden to play. I now know why. 
Skip forward many years............my was watching a cartoon, and the young girl was playing the violin. At the end of the show she came to me and said she would like to learn how to play one.
Well, I tried to talk her into lots of other musical instruments, but no, it had to be the violin.
After what seemed an eternity, there was beautiful music being played, only to be told that she didn't want to play anymore.
Have any of you or your played a musical instrument that drove you or your parents nuts?

Woke up Sunday morning.....yay it's my Sunday off. Massive sleep in 7am, as I'm up on a working day at 5am and don't usually sleep in on my day off. Great way to start the day.
Jump out of bed, well not really jump, crank the coffee on, feed the cat and thought I've a few hours before my friend comes round to do a repair job on the hair, which has grown heaps since the shave, and now is 50 shades of grey, followed by a nice cheap pub lunch.
Get on the laptop to catch up with things. After a bit, I look at the clock on the wall, why when I have the time shown on the laptop? Still heaps of time before I have to get out of jammies and into the shower.
Been on here a while, when I look at the time on here....hang on a minute, something's a miss. How long have I been on here?
Look at the clock on the wall, back to the one on here.  Takes a few seconds for it to sink in......bloody Hell, I forgot to put the clocks back an hour before going to bed. 
I know a few that will post on this blog will say that daylight savings is a ridiculous thing anyway, It doesn't bother me as it's only an hour, just glad it was my Sunday off.

Well last Saturday was The world's Greatest Shave.
I had two friends come along with me, not to get shaved, but to watch and take heaps of photos.
It was great to see so many joining in to raise money. There were only four of us getting shaved, but lots getting their hair couloured. There were some great colours too. I would have liked to get that done as well, but there wasn't enough hair left. Lol
I was hoping to raise 500, but with the generosity of some special friends, I ended up getting 1078. I was very happy indeed.
After the deed was done, we went into the local for a very nice lunch.
