I am deeply saddened by the death of this beautiful animal. I am embarrassed that he was killed by a Minnesotan dentist/trophy hunter. And, I am outraged by the way he was hunted. Lured off the preservation, then shot with an arrow and then tracked and shot with a gun -- beheaded and skinned.
I am not against hunting for food .... I come from a long line of hunters. But what happened here (and happens elsewhere as well) really sickened me. I feel that all associated with this hunt should face poaching charges.
What is YOUR take on this? Do you feel that the dentist should be extradited to stand trial for poaching?

It is so dark in here..........opening yet another door, hoping to see some light......only to find more darkness. There are more doors ahead to open.......hearing the gunshots....the screams, then more gunshots. Finally, it is quiet, except for the tears before the sirens wail. Yes, it is dark in here.

How do you "break the ice"? Starting a conversation with someone you don't know can be uncomfortable for many people. How do you do it? What are some of the things you say, tools you use, certain phrases... when you approach someone you have never talked to before? Let's see how many we can come up with....maybe we will all learn something we can adapt in our own lives.

It is almost 3am ....and here I am, wide awake. If the legend is true, that means that in someone's dream, I am awake. If I am in your dream and awake, what am I doing?
I honestly wish our minds came with an on and off switch. So many thoughts go through my mind when I am lying awake at night. Some very pleasant and others not so much. This is the time I remember that I forgot someone's birthday or where I hid the rest of last year's holiday gifts. This is also why I keep a notepad and pen on my nightstand. I am hoping that I am not the only one who does this.....?

Laughing as I write this. I just talked with someone who asked me if I were watching the Super Bowl today. I said, "no, not planning to". Then, he told me it was "positively un-American of me to not watch the BIG game".
I am having dinner guests so will be in the kitchen making dinner and dessert......so, I will be busy. But, honestly.....not sure I would watch it anyway.
What do you think? Is it "un-American" to not watch the BIG game?

I saw this picture and thought to myself -- yup...that says it all! It is so damned cold here in Minnesota. The white, fluffy newly fallen snow is beautiful to look at and would be fun to play in.....but the frigid temperatures and strong winds make it dangerous to be outside.
However, did I stay inside today? Noooooooo.... I was born and raised here...I am tough. Of course I went outside.......(tomorrow is supposed to be even more cold).
As I was walking to my car I was listing all the words I could think of that described the weather today. Here are just some of them.
Cold, freezing, bitter, frigid, biting, breathtaking, nippy, numbing, chilled, frozen, bitter,
crisp, raw, harsh, frosty.........

Hi Friends,
Can you believe that 2014 is almost over? Where did the year go? It has been a year of changes and challenges for me. But I am still here. I have not given up or lost sight of what is important. That is our health, family and friends.
Thinking back on 2014, I know there are things I could have done better. Things I should have done that I didn't do. But, there were many things I did and did right too. I am not dwelling on all that didn't get done -- I am thankful for what did.
I am grateful and thankful for the blessings I have.
I wish each and everyone of you a Happy New Year. It is my hope that all of you find what you are looking for and that you appreciate what you now have.
I am going to leave you with a quote from Albert Einstein:
"Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow".
Bring on 2015....!!!!!

Yes, this is a fairly accurate picture of how I am feeling. Nothing serious, just caught an old fashioned cold. You know, where you have the achy head and body, coughing, sneezing, red nose, sore throat and chills kind of cold.
Nothing can really be done for it except to rest, drink plenty of fluids and also am taking Emergen C. Cuddling under my big, down blanket -- I am staying plenty warm.
Do you know of or have any ideas on how I can get over this more quickly?
I hope you are all healthy and happy!
