Overpopulation and Automation. Where does it end?

So many what if's with this virus. When will the next one ? Next year, if enough don't die from this one?

Suppose automation has reached the point where human labor is rendered irrelevant; A ruling elite has no answer to the solution but to slowly ( or not) eliminate (cull) the population that needs to be fed clothed and entertained.

Resources are scarce with 6 to 7 billion.. So what might one expect of an uncaring elite interested only in its own survival - which can be provided by AI ?

Prioritize disposal beginning with weak and aging.

HIV offered safe options and in various formats. They thought it might kill off enough at a fast rate. Same with Ebola. Deaths werent happening fast enough.

But this one is pernicious. Isolate them. Quarantine them. Kill them off at a faster rate with fewer options for safety.

It's a bitch to have escaped HIV only to be trapped by this one. Who do you touch (ok, suck)? Transmission with HIV wasn't guaranteed with touch or airborne contaminants.

Have I carried my conspiratorial paranoid fears too far? I can only hope so.
There's a billion + people over there. What do they care if a couple million die in an experiment designed to eliminate or incapacitate the competition?
