Chivalry is not dead... yet

Nothing gives you a sinking feeling like exiting a shopping center to find a flat tire on your car. Even worse, opening the trunk to get the jack and spare only to find... no spare. Then you remember a certain conversation with a who needed a tire. Hmmm... why would mom need that spare? Immediately your brain assesses the situation: 30 miles from home; 6:30 pm on a Wednesday; you dont know a soul in this town.

First, call , no answer...SURPRISE!
Second, look up businesses in area... all closed
Third, ask for help... OH BOY!

The answers I received from the average middle aged men walking by were interesting: cant help you, call Uber, call your husband (sure my ex would love that), call a garage, NO and my personal favorite... Im on my way to church or i would help... Hmmmm.

Then this little skinny 20 something walks by. "Do you need help mam?" I love this already. I explain the situation, he takes a look at the tire. Pulls out his phone, makes a couple calls. Then he says "Come with me, I will get this patched up for you" And he did! Also gave me his number to call if i had problems and to let him know when i got home safely. What a great guy! Needless to say, my new friend got a big kiss and hug for being my knight in shining armour! He also copped a feel of my ass at the time and hinted he would like to see more of me. He will.

Definition of Chivalry relevant to modern life: the choice to do the right things, for the right reasons, at the right times.

Til next time
Linden

I find that young men that act in a gentlemanly fashion and live a chivalrous life have BOTH parents to thank. Especially the Mother more so than the Father. Hats off to this young man. and hats off to his parents for doing a great job. Jimmy B.

My blog JimmyB7474 is called Into The Woods (erotica) entertaining stories about a guy named Jimmy. Enjoy.

Kudos to the 20 year old, for doing what every one of those guys with excuses , should have done. It's not dead, but it is on life support these days.

Glad you made it home safe.

In this day and age, men have to be EXTRA CAREFUL... there are women out there who get easily offended if a man tries to help them. We are often vilified for acting Chivalrous. That kinda stuff makes a man not want to get involved- even if it means keep walking....

I gotta ask...
With you being in NC and with me being black, would you have let me assist you and then be REWARDED with a feel? or would it have made you feel uncomfortable...?

The last 9 years I have been remote management at sites for my employer. I have had several 20-ish guys as employees that show an old style attitude. Think. Respect. Do the work. Do not mouth off. These guys give me some hope that in 2 generations we may still be in operation. If I had a sister 20-ish I would introduce her to these few.

A random act of kindness is always welcome in this world, especially in a predicament such as yours when nobody had been willing to offer any assistance whatsoever. Yes of course the one guy had to go to church because that is what Jesus would have wanted..right. Hypocrite. Anyway as you know it is the little unexpected things in life that so often make the biggest difference.

Great answer by the way to Linc.
