i was always a big kid...early matured...and used to get picked on in the middle school...i am still big, but at least i am eating healthier now...i was doing Kito Diet...which is low carb/sugar...good fat...type of thingy...i did not feel hunger or hard...i lost over 15 pounds in a 18 month...right now, i am slacking, so i gained back about 5 pounds...i really need to get back to the program...i also work out regularly...but work out and exercise really never did anything for me anyway...by the way, i always thought being fat is in my genetics, too...when i tell other people, they think that is not right, and i am just a lazy pig...but my dad was a big bone, and i am exactly like him...he passed at age 69...he was diabetic and other health issues, so i am really watching out my health now...

keep up the good work...good luck...

Hello,

My comment here will serve its purpose, but next time when you post your blog, remember to put the first comment by yourself. It will make your post to show up in the "Recently Blog Posts". Otherwise, your post will never show up anywhere else, and no one will know you have posted your blogs.

The first comment in your blog posts doesn't have to be anything special. People just put "The magic comment", "My obligatory comment", or you can really write what you wanna say, in your first comment, too.

There are some wonderful bloggers here, so be sure to check other bloggers' posts, and leave them your comments. It's a good way to leave your foot prints in their blogs, and you will get to know more people as you mingle and reciprocate!

And if you are a santadard member, you can set up a private inbox, so even if you can't communicate with other members though mails, you still can communicate though your blogs.

Happy blogging, and let us know if you have any other questions in regards to the blogs, we are happy to assist you.

Yeah, my diet was a Kito diet. My problem was that I wasn't just cutting out the carbs, I was alos cutting the fats. Lean meats are bland and I struggled daily with cravings. Turns out I have genes that lead to increased hunger and genes that contribute to between meal snacks. So, cutting carbs and fats was too much of a struggle. Now I eat nuts as snacks. Turns out i also have the genes for burning fats as fuels. So adding fats back into my diet has been great for me.
My parents are also heavy, my mother is class 2 obese. Luckily, my family has the gene for reduced side effects from obesity, which pairs well with all the genes for increased appetite and reduced weight loss.
It's normal for people to only see things from their own perspective. If you aren't losing weight you should just eat less like them. Doesn't work that way. LOL. Some of us have genetics designed to store fat through the long winters of an Ice Age and it's just what we have to deal with. We can't all be designed to survive in a tropical forest full of high carb fruits.

Getting older never helps the weight battle. Its about finding balance for me. I played a lot of sports through college and after and so I never gave it a second thought. While my job is fairly active I do find its a constant battle. I have a slow thyroid (thanks genetics) which slows down my metabolism. So some gym time, walking, skating and stay off the carbs. Carbs are my downfall but they taste sooooo good.

What my Doctor told me was "Don't eat any thing fatty" So I asked him, "You mean like french fries and ice cream." "No", said my Doctor. "I mean don't eat any thing fatty" end of story

The best diet is the one you can stick to. Try just eating a no processed food diet..not that hard. And the best advice I got from researching, was don't train like you're 20. It takes a different approach once you're past 40.
