Just following your lead.

I was a really good . Until I hit around 7th grade. Then I started hanging with the wrong people. Hell, I was the wrong people. Doing things I probably shouldn't have. Ok..yeah, I shouldn't have.

By high school, I was a wild . And having an active imagination, even back then, I could cook up some crazy ideas on how to have fun. And lord knows, I could talk everyone into trying it. I was in without a doubt...Peer Pressure. At it's finest.

Skipping out of school..it'll be easy. I'll write you all notes from your parents. New drug..lets give it a whirl. What could go wrong? Not a single one of my friends parents liked me. I was always polite and respectful around parents. But things just always seemed to happen when I was around. LOL

Funny thing is..well not always so funny for my friends, is I rarely got caught. I'd come up with the idea for some crazy stunt. Get everyone to follow along. Then they'd all get busted somehow. Not me.

We'd blow stuff up, burn stuff down. We didn't experiment with drugs, we were into full scale research. Major destruction and chaos was just a normal part of life around me as a . I was a wild with no sense of mortality or fear of the outcome. And I drug a lot of people along for the ride. I was peer pressure.

Fast forward to adulthood, and I'd like to think I've calmed way down. And I'm no longer the one leading people into trouble. Point in fact, I'm usually the one talking people out of stupid shit. But apparently, some of my friends are still vulnerable to peer pressure.

My next door neighbor was out in the front last night, so my oldest and I went over to talk with him. His wife caught him , again, out with his friend messing around with other women. I asked him, why the hell are you listening to this guy man? His response is..I don't know. Just seemed like it would be fun.

I didn't say it out loud, but I'm thinking, dude you're 40 something and you're still falling for peer pressure?

One of our workers didn't show up for work today. Found out he's in jail. Was out with some friends. One of the friends was in a ongoing fight with some other guy. The details are a little sparse at the moment. So my worker decides to follow along while they all go and try to gang up on the dude. Turns out the dude has friends. Major fight breaks out. Two people in the hospital, and three in jail. This guy is 37 years old, has a wife and . But he's still giving in to peer pressure?

Unbelievable. Yeah..when I was young, I was an idiot in more ways than one. I rarely gave in to peer pressure back then, probably cause I was the one leading people into the abyss. But I grew out of it, and stopped doing stupid stuff dreamed up by some friend, just cause he said it'd be fun.

I know some are more prone to follow, but would you follow along with something you knew was just dumb? Do you find yourself in situations because of friends? I'm sure I'll make some more mistakes, before life is over. But I'd like to think they'll be little ones. Cause I didn't follow along blindly, and thought the crazy ideas through.

I hope I have out grown al these tendencies, and surely not to be swayed by some simple peer pressure. The school of hard knocks taught me a lot in life, now it is simpler and a lot cheaper also..

There were times, in my youth, that I would take any dare they would come up with. I guess you could call that a peer pressure. LOL

I didn't lead any of my siblings into trouble, was usually the one keeping them out of stuff.

The neighbor is just a idiot and a horn dog. He's an intelligent guy, he should know better, he just can't say no.

I have never been a follower as I beat to my own drum. I have never gotten into any trouble, not saying I haven't tried a few things now and then..

Seems as we get older we get wiser and try to help others take the smart route. But they don't always listen, not sure maybe they just aren't happy in their lives and need some fun!! Not realizing that fun isn't always the wise decision..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

LOL...We blew a giant hole in the side of a small cliff, at the creek area behind my house one time. Like a rustic greenbelt thing, in the middle of neighborhoods. That night it was on the news..and my Dad just looks at me. He had to have known I was involved somehow. LOL

Ok...that was a funny admission on recent peer pressure.

I think that's a good way to be. If you don't stand up for yourself, it's real easy to just get walked on.

When I was in high school they still used the paddle. During the last three years, it was rare for a day to go by without me getting "licks" for something. Tardy too much, skipping out of class, fighting. LOL I was a handful.

My husband would say you know God has a sense of humor, he made 15 yr old boys. So, yes, maybe you could be the norm. But, a 40 plus man doing the bar fight, unless he’s definding his woman, he’s just plain ole stunted. I was a good kid, I had the dad from hell.

Well the worker who got into the fight just apparently never grew up. And he's hanging out with a bunch of others just like him it would appear. LOL

It's a good thing I didn't get caught much, my Dad was a ex Drill Sargent. He beat the hell out of us already for little stuff around the house.

I usually prefer to do my own thinking and don't blindly follow along with what others may think is a good idea. I was a good kid growing up but I got in my share of trouble. Thank goodness it was minor stuff. These days I have that "I'm innocent" look down and I've gotten away with a few things.

When I was a teen and into my 20s I was one of the guys who would do most any dumb kinda thing - sometimes my idea. But I did them in a semi-calculated way. Lots was car related stuff - usually avoided a racing ticket or worse. But I managed to "score" lots of fix-it tickets - enough to half fill a wall in an old cottage me and a friend rented. And many of the local cops knew me and my cars.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

One... or two people, cast small shadows and I always had a pretty good idea of where I wanted to fling mine.
Almost, a little too easy for someone like me to talk or walk or strut his way into anything I put my mind to. That 'sold out' show or hockey game, 'By Invitation Only' (to that 'private party) ... not to mention - I was one of the original 'wedding crashers'. I never did see any fricken royalties for the rights to that original screenplay. I still put the 'switch ON', every once in a while... just to see if I can. It's a thrill ! I've' taken my daughters on some of my more recent adventures. I'm a bad role model... Oh well ...
Trouble? Me ? Never...!

You would think everyone would grow out of doing dumb things, just cause someone suggests it. Apparently not.

Yeah the car escapades is a whole nuther story..as they say. I lost my license for 6 months at 17. Too many tickets. On the last one the cop put in the comments, excessive use of a motor vehicle. LOL

Not that it stopped me from driving that six months.

I was a good girl in school, too worried about getting into trouble, lol.

I think the wildest thing I did in high school was in my senior year...we TP'd a couple houses...lol.

I fall into the category of having done a few stupid things during the teenage years and have now gotten wiser. I was more of a leader back then as far as escapades go, only followed if it was something that I wanted to do anyways. Luckily my "stupid" years didn't last too long and didn't have any major repercussions, but I have to admit that they were some really fun years too.
