Thems fighting words!!

I love professional football. I guess I should clarify that statement for my friends outside of the US. NFL football. From my earliest days I remember sitting around watching football with my Dad. We watched some college games, but the main event was always ....wait for it. The Dallas Cowboys. Somewhere, I just heard RedRock groan.

Something that I found really funny this morning, looking through some news story's was a link to why people hate the Cowboys. The truth is, it depends on how you ask the question it appears. Somehow, when the question is who is your favorite team, more people said the boys, than any other team. Putting them as the most liked team in the NFL..But. When the question was asked, which team do you dislike the most, once again, My boys were on top. So, the most liked, and the most hated, team in the NFL? My team, The Dallas Cowboys. LOL I'll take it!

I would consider myself a "fan", but not a fanatic. I can't say I really "hate" another team. Sure, there's the divisional rivalry, and I wasn't cheering for Philadelphia to win the last Super Bowl. But I didn't lose my mind when they did.

I find it humorous, when people truly get bent out of shape over a team they don't like. Sorta like the Patriots. Man I hear some shit talk about the Patriots and Brady. I wonder how much of that is anger due to them kicking everyone's asses in the numerous Super Bowls they've won recently.

I find it really disturbing, when I hear people cheer that someone on a rival team got injured.Washington, another division rival, just lost their starting QB yesterday. Broken tibia and fibula. I feel for the dude and the team. Sure it might throw the odds in our favor come the Thanksgiving day game, but I get no joy in that fact. Wish him a speedy and full recovery.

Win or lose, it's a game I watch. A competition. There's gonna be a winner and a loser in almost every game. Ties are rare. Do I yell and holler at the TV during the game? Hell yeah. My daughters puppy wants nothing to do with me during the games. But it's just an excitement and enthusiasm thing.

Do I sit back and do my best "armchair" QB routine during and after the game. Of course..it's become a national past time. We all like to think we'd make better decisions and calls, than the owners, GM's and coaches. Admittedly, at times, I have no clue what the hell they're thinking. But I'm also smart enough to realize that someone who's never built a house, probably won't know as much about the process as I do. I'd be willing to bet it's the same with Football.

So are you a fan or a fanatic. I mean I'll shit talk your team with the best of them. But for me it's friendly banter. I'm not losing any sleep if your team beats mine. LOL

Recently a good friend on here told me she actually gets turned on while watching football...I'm like really? Damn, I've been dating the wrong women all my life.

Hell, I cheer for her team now too, even though I have said I hated them in the past. Though I'll be man enough to admit it. It's just cause their QB eats our team alive every time we play it seems.

Of course people get bent out of shape and real angry when asses are kicked lol Anger is the top predator of emotional distress ..ppl don't know how to control it..its the top of the emotional food chain because its the easiest way to deal with being a poor loser ....I watch any sport and understand most few like golf I don't pay much attention to..pointless to me important to those who play...I do armchair root when baseball is on My team is Blue jays and I don't care who knows..I watched them play at the skydome with my brother in law who explained the game in depth to me..we had a blast! but its a game and I don't live for it and don't get batshit crazy if they lose ...thanks

Back in the day... Troy Aikman, Emmit Smith... Dallas was my team! Still is, but it would help if they played better. The Patriots are the other team I'm faithful to.. But I can't say I really die with my teams... I'm attracted to the underdog or the new kids on the block.. surprises - so to speak.. Sports teams used to occupy my daily thoughts, but they've been relegated to a curious pastime over the years. Nothing like looking at some of the salaries these guys make to realize that the guy playing for your home team is a hired gun and come free agency he's outta here. Back in the day... Well... There was some loyalty from both sides. It's all good. It's only a game! 😁🏈⚽🏒 And I'm only a spectator... 😗

Yeah, I have a pretty good knowledge of the game. I played in school. Till extracurricular activities, known as Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll, took me in a different direction.

You don't like the Cowboys? Really? That's the first time I've heard that. LOL

At least I have a fan..

See I agree with that. I'm upset when we lose..and lets face it , in the last 10 years, I've been upset more than a few times. LOL

But hell the fun is in watching the game.

Yeah the trio times were good times for Cowboy fans. They're playing better in the last two games, but most of this season has been a "what the hell was that" game. LOL

I'm like that once we hit the playoffs. And as "someone" pointed out, right after my boys get beat in the first round, or didn't make it. I usually go with the underdog...or the team with a "new" QB ..

Oh...here's another point.

Are you just a "fair weather fan". Those that love their team when they're winning or in the playoffs...but don't even pay attention when they're losing?

Sorta like everyone here gives me grief cause I don't cheer on the NBA Spurs. My hometown Basketball team. I don't like watching Basketball, never will. I'm not gonna act like I love it just because they're winning a championship.

Conversely, even when the Cowboys are losing. They're still my team.

Yea I love my 49ers and have since I was a young girl, but our season was over before it got started. I have been a Chiefs fan ever since Alex got traded to them and he was doing such a great job, for the Redskins, so sorry to see he got hurt I hope he heals soon.

I am still rooting for the Chiefs though Go Patrick, hes an awesome QB and there is a lot of great things being said about this young man.

Now as far as the Patriots I can't stand that team as I don't like any team that CHEATS, and there is another team that cheated too, but they are doing quite well this year.

So if your a true NFL fan you will always root for the team you always have regardless if they are winning or NOT!!!

Good luck to your Cowboys they need it..

Seduce the mind and see what a wonderful adventure the body will take you on..

I come from a family of girls, and we're Canadian to boot, which has NOTHING to do with my being more of a hockey fan that baseball.

I have memories of watching the NHL Playoffs on TV, with my Dad, back in the 70's, and particularly liking the Boston Bruins. I have NO idea why.

After sitting through all my son's hockey games, I rarely watch it anymore, but in my experience, fans enjoyed good hockey, regardless of who was playing. They might not have liked it when the other team in a rivalry won, but they don't seem to get as "bent out of shape" as American fans do with their football.

And as much as I couldn't give two hoots about football, I do think the player's uniforms are much more attractive. There is Nothing Wrong with admiring a nice pair of buns in tight pants - but that is still not enough to make me care about that silly sport.

Check out my profile or and become a "watcher" of my blog FMAOPLS,to learn more about me, and for intelligent, lively, smartassy and fun discussion, with a little irreverence thrown in. "Like" or comment on my photos, and I promise I'll add more. Thanks.

Yeah I like the Chiefs new QB..he seems to be lighting it up.

And I agree, if you're a real fan, you stick with your team. Up or down.

Hey, if we beat the skins this thursday , we're tied for first in the division. And while our defense is playing well enough for the playoffs, I don't think our offense can score enough points to beat anyone on that level.

Somewhere, I just heard RedRock groan. From Norther AZ. I knew you were gonna go the soon as you mentioned football.

I am a fan / borderline fanatic RAIDER since forever. I yell at the TV wonder WTF were they thinking with that play etc.

I believe I've mentioned that my dislike of the cowturds is summed up in 2 words - Jerry Jones. He fired Tom Landry and should have burned in a pile of cow turds immediately after that. Throw in some of the players he has brought in - like the psycho with the guns and violence.

patriots 2 words - tuck rule. Other words would include cheating and inflation.

Unfortunately, I'm not so sure Alex Smith can or will be back. He is/was a solid player.

Later, I'm off to grab a couple pizzas and head to a buddy's house.

Just Win Baby ! ! !

I am a die-hard Seahawks fan. I have been since they became a franchise. Love my Seahawks, win or lose, I'm a 12 forever.

I will curse a blue streak when they are playing, and as a result, I prefer to watch the game alone. Well, and also I don't want anyone talking to me and interrupting while I'm watching.

I don't really have any other teams that I would say are "my" team or a favorite. I do have some I'm not a fan of...the Patriots are at the top...and the 49ers are my least favorite rival team (the Cowboys are close, but the Niners top the list).

I hate seeing players get hurt, no matter which team they are on. I do, however, enjoy seeing a nice hard hit that might knock the wind out of a player.

I love college football as well. I have quite a few favorite teams...FSU, Washington, Washington State, Georgia, Wisconsin, and Texas...and will watch those when I can. I can't stand Ohio State and Alabama...OSU because of Urban Meyers...and I'm just soooo tired of Alabama being rated #1...

I don't follow any other sports.

And, I can't say that watching football turns me on...and to be honest, the sex better wait until after the game.

I would have taken you for a Broncos' fan or a Cardinals fan. Kudos for going with the Raiders. I've like them since the Madden years.

And yeah, I think Jerry still gets a lot of the blame. But it's really not him making the sole decisions like it was. He made some horrible calls. Just horrible.

It's slowly progressing to a Stephan team. But truth is...this is the NFL..people will hate him as much.

You being a raider fan...remember Al.

I was talking more about the fan base on forums and such...But there was a time when the eagles had a coach named Buddy Ryan. Who put bounties on opposing team players. Who pay out whoever "took them out of the game"..

And the philly fans cheered it on.

I haven't seen it in a while in the stadium..but damn the blogs were alive with it today. Just a sad state of affairs.

I do like watching OU play.
