Did You Live in Manhattan '79 to '84? ***RAMONES*** Just thinking back to when I lived in NYC. the years were '79 to '84. Lived in the upper west side at 2350 Broadway (Bretton Hall) Worked at a Recording Studio on West 57th between 8th & 9th Ave. In '79, I somehow became so into the New Wave and Punk scene. My favorite band at the time was the Ramones - seeing them often in the Village. I had such a thing for Johnny Ramone My two favorite clothing boutiques were: Trash & Vaudeville and Fiorucci In '84 I moved to Northern VA, just outside of DC Changed my image - Left Music Recording Became involved in Video Production Went after the Federal Gov't. and Corporate America. With the outside temp being around 20 degrees and dropping to the single digits. I'm finding myself searching the net thinking about days-gone-by... ~Holly ~Holly Atlantic City, NJ |

I moved back to NYC from Grad school in 81 and have been here since. Loved St. Marks back then! Veselka, Brownie points, Kyber Pass restaurants. CBGB, Mudd Club. Like the Ramones but loved Blondie and Devo. Now so much of it has been taken over BY NYU One of Anthony Bourdain's final shows takes place in the East Village and he spends time with alot of the people from that era (Lydia Lunch, Iggy Pop), Wish I had a time machine!

I was in the service during those years (1965 -1985). I was making every effort to stay away from the east coast and Washington DC. I was successful. Went from Mississipppi to College Station, Texas, to Taipei and Tainan Taiwan, to Kansas City, to Sierra Vista Arizona, to Albuquerque. Then I retired; and went back to Sierra Vista, to Denver, finally to Tucson.
