Limiting Myself. A Poem

I asked him to read my profile
And tell me what he thought
He said it sounded
Like I was looking for love.
I said really?
That was your conclusion?
I didn't ever write that
But it might still be obvious.
But then again he knew
Me well enough.

Yes it is true
Love is what I seek
Why would I limit myself
To just a fling
With no emotional strings?
I am human
Who wants connections
If not with this lover
Then maybe the next one?

If love is not possible
If my heart is closed off
I would be limiting
Yes limiting myself.
