I give away $500+ to a stranger
I give away $500+ to a stranger So, I am leaving the grocery store and getting close to my car, I see a wallet in the middle of the road. I look around don't see anyone looking panicked searching. Stopping my shopping cart on top of the wallet, I casually reach down and pick it up. As I stand up, I notice a guy in a suv perked up and looking my way, I act casual and keep walking. He notices the wallet in my hand and comes running over. Sir, did you find my wallet?...........depends, what is your name...he tells me. I open the wallet, check the Texas Drivers License and damnit ...same name. I open the cash section and see a little over $500+ in twenties, hundreds. Double damnit. He stands obviously wanting the money. I decide to make him squirm. I ask about a percentage reward. He stops smiling and looks really bummed and hopeless. After a suitable time.....I tell him I am joking and let's both go watch NFL football games. He is very relieved. I am obviously a rich guy, cause I just gave over $500 to a stranger. He is lucky I was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Explorer and REAL HIPPY. |

Wait a minute, you say that you gave away $500 to a stranger? You said that you found a wallet with money in it and found the person whose name was on the driver's license inside the wallet. All you did was return the wallet to its rightful owner without stealing someone else's money which it sounds like you wanted to steal. And it sounds like you tried to get money from the rightful owner, a percentage, as a reward for doing the right thing. Sounds to me like you are money hungry and thief if the conditions are right. I don't think those are traits the Scouts exemplify.

Naw, I know this guy, we shared a woman one afternoon. He's a very generous, giving person. More like he was teasing the guy, making him squirm.

NO...so, yeah, I did a good deed and had fun doing it.

Thanks for the support of this blogger. In reading the words as written, this situation didn't come across well to me at all. Nice to know that I was mistaken, I like having faith in my fellow man.
