I LOVE my lil buddy with all my heart.

I do look at the places where he would hang out, and especially at the window (in the pic I posted) when he was ready to come in. It is directly in front of the living room. In the AM he would paw the sheet off of my head and we would be eye-to-eye.

We promised him we would do everything we could to give him a happy, healthy, safe life. We never thought we would have to do this. But him being in pain would never be acceptable.

There were times I couldn’t go on a trip with a woman I am crazy about because the neighbor was not available to keep an eye on him and get him inside overnight.

I spent much of the last week with him outside, where he liked to do his thing, as much as possible. Neighbors came to visit him and my ex did too. Most nights he would sleep with me. Some nights he would put his head on my hand as we slept. Sometimes I sleep with the covers over my head. Those AMs he would paw at the covers so he could see my eyes.

We talked to him and rubbed his ears and kissed his head, Cathie stroked his fir as the vet did it. I/we did the right thing but it is very, very painful. It feels like I am being punished for doing the right thing. I miss him more than I can describe.

 Red, being an animal owner too, I know what your feeling. Sorry for your lost. When my cat passed away this summer it got to me really bad.. I had to remember he has gone to a better place. He will always be with you. Remember this my friend. hugsssss V
