I recall SPAM on one occasion as a kid....I refused it then and my stomach churns now thinking about it. Is that stuff still legal to sell LOL

|
For me it is the smell of fire burning (wood fire that is! )

|
I was just thinking about this recently. For me it's the smell of certain items that aren't made or aren't common anymore. Like candies. But the smell of liner notes in Ds and tapes are pretty nostalgic for me.

The smell of a farm takes me back to my childhood. And play-doh - what a great smell!

What a great poll, I have to say nothing really triggers any great child hood smell memories for me. I try not to think about my child hood. But I do enjoy the smell of hot warm cocoa as I like different flavors. In just a bit here I will be enjoying a cup of Sea Salt Carmel Cocoa. I hope your Sunday is a relaxing one..

Couple things come to mind. One being my all time favorite smell, and that’s a summer thunderstorm up in the pine and sage covered mountains. It’s glorious. The second, well it sucks being old, but I can say I actually have smelled as a kid and do remember what the old Woolworths department store smelled like. That too was glorious in its own way.

There are so many things that take me back... way back, like that smell of the air when you blow up a beach ball or an inflatable swimming pool, then let it out. The leather smell of my first baseball glove. The smell after you sharpened a pencil and the smell of chaulk on a chaulkboard as well. The smell of chlorine at the public swimming pool. The smell of walking through a corn field. the smell of walking past or having to use an old wooden outhouse (yuck). The smell of hot asphalt on the street during the summer. The smell of opening a fresh box of Cracker Jack. The smell of other women's stale perfume while having to go shopping with my mom. The smell of cooking as you walk past a cafee. The smell of big pink pencil erasers. Geez.. I could go on forever listing things !!

Gah! It's mothballs. Mothballs bring me RIGHT back to my grandmother's house and all the fun old stuff that was just laying around, waiting to be discovered! That's terrible but you can't fight smell!

Home-baked items are so different from store-bought items. I didn't know what spudnuts were so had to look those up. Thanks for dropping by and sharing your memories. [image]
