Ecstasy

Ecstasy

Have you ever felt it? Have you wandered into it accidentally…tasted it on the wind…smelled it on your pallet? Has it ever wrapped you incandescently into a frothing ball of sensuous pleasure? It has done this to me.

I have writhed in its arms countless times in life, savoring the delicacy with extended delight. It has taken me fully into itself and carried me away to distant places exalted in memory by the fulsome textures imparted to me. The simple strains of “Clair de Lune” conspire against my reason each time I hear them, and I am transported against time and space to follow the notes to translucent memories, and in ecstasy, I am lost.

In rapturous celebration I have delighted in the scents of rosemary and thyme, frankincense and myrrh, sandalwood and cedar, and drifted to distant shores in stories untold. Ecstasy it is…all of it. The pain and the glory, the agony of memories not yet lived, but hoped for, the overwhelming glistening of tears on the verge of breaking forth for the beauty of it all…this is living.

I have cried at the simple honesty of a ’s laughter, the giggle of a clear water brook, and the tinkle of bells on the wind. I have soared on the wings of eagles with their cry in my ears, and dived to the depths of the sea on the fins of the sea turtle. These are treasures of untold worth for me, and I cherish them all more than anything.

I wish only this for you…that you may share in this exquisite ecstasy and celebrate it as you let it discover you. Give ecstasy permission. Live.
