My 1st......
My 1st...... Virtual flight in the wind tunnel. Those that have been reading my blogs for a while know of my love of indoor skydiving. There's no way I would jump of a plane, so the tunnel is the next best thing. Today I did a base jump in a wingsuit, did a skydive in Hawaii and one in the Swiss Alps, as well as two normal fights and taken to the top of the tunnel by the instructor twice. The tunnel is meters (56ft) and 5 meters ( and a half ft) wide. Can't wait to do my next one. The photo I've attached is an old one, but my favourite. |

How long before this is an Olympic sport?

Do you jump into it like from a platform or does it just lift you off the ground gradually? Using more than all the road!

That looks like a lot of fun! I should try it some day!!! [I]Da Focker!!

When I jumped... it was back in the day, and things were different. I had to take a 3 hour class.. They ran through every safety tip and every possible scenario that could occur. Scared the shit out of me... lol. They reviewed all the accidents that occurred and why they happened. Then I went to the airport - a little piece of crap air strip next to a farm... lol.. Sketchy? 😱 We went through another hour of practice on how to jump out of the plane. In those days.... Your first jumps were all SOLO... We flew up to 7,000 feet... in this tiny Cessna 180 . In order to take off.... all 6 of us had to move to the front of the plane and huddle behind the pilot. It's at that point that I asked myself.... What the fuck I was doing there.... Then we jumped... it was the most terrifying, exhilarating and fantastic moment of my life. It was EPIC! I've never had a rush to match THAT one.... in my life.... Except when I decided to jump again and again and again... lol These days... your first jump will be in tandem... with a person strapped to your back and you'll be jumping from 10,000 feet. But it will still be a thrill. Sorry for getting carried away here. I jumped for 3 years... then I stopped. You'd lose your certification if you didn't jump at least 3 times per year. I didn't feel like going through that course again. And jumping with someone on my back didn't exist then. Have I scared you or motivated you? For me.... jumping... and that thrill... is something that I'll never forget nor regret. Regardless of the terror I felt that day.... 🙃😱😁 ... is there another way to look at it Going Too Fucking Far NEW Blog Features RevealeD O O A Foolproof Method Posted Over on that NEW site O O

How long before this is an Olympic sport? I've watched my son in championships doing 4 and 6 ways, amazing, but for me I'll sit and watch. If this had of been around many years ago, I would have been one of those competing.

He still jumps and use the tunnel for pleasure and competitions. Still not sure I'm game to jump out of a plane, even if I'm strapped to someone. Thanks for sharing. I found it very interesting.

Yes I did this last year & it is awesome but I didn't do the virtual or the to the top! You should try the virtual reality. It's so amazing and so real. At one stage there were other skydivers getting ready to do a formation. One of them came up to me and put his hand out for me to join in. Before I knew it, I was putting my hand out to him to join in. lol

They should have given you ear plugs so it wasn't so loud. Did you go to the top of the tunnel? I do it every time. One more flight and I'll be in double figures, can't wait.

That looks like a lot of fun! I did regular skydiving once. I consider it a badge of honour that I didn't soil my underwear when I lost contact with the plane.

That looks like a lot of fun! I did regular skydiving once. I consider it a badge of honour that I didn't soil my underwear when I lost contact with the plane. I did see a video of a person who did pass out, I was laughing so much at his panic when he came too, I couldn't breath. I had to watch it a few times. Best laugh in ages.
