August winds.

August winds.  Although they are called the August winds, they can start anywhere from the month before and up to two months later. But this year they are spot on. It was a bit of a scary drive home from work today. The trees were swaying and bending over. There were branches all over the road, and reports of trees down. There was a group of people outside my place. My neighbour had a very large branch come down taking the power lines with it. They were left dangling a few feet off the ground. About an hour later, the electricity van arrived. There were men in uniform all over the place, so of cause I had to go out and take photos of the action.  His power has been disconnected until another emergency team can come out and remove the large branch before power can be reconnected to his house. We are lucky to still have power. Who knows how long he will be out for. The winds have died down, hopefully for the rest of the evening, but have heard there are more on their way for the next couple of days. |

Knowing you, you were just outside, ogling the workmen's arses, while they were up the pole, working away!   Life isn't about how many breaths you take, but about the moments that take your breath away!

Poor Roy. With all the people coming through the place, I have deflated him, and he is in my wardrobe. Was getting to hard to find places to hide him. Sir Teezalot WAR IS ABSURD

Bushfires are a terrible thing. I remember a Christmas day years ago, where we had things packed ready to go, but were lucky, we were still able to have our Christmas diner. Another year when the kids were small I took them to their Grandmothers who was no where near the bush. We had to wait for the all clear to return home to the mountains. The fire had come very close to our house. Looking out the back was heart breaking. Everything was black, and for months you could hear a crack as a tree fell over. Luckly no one was killed. Some of our fires are started by idiots.

I could not see a thing. I have Carmen deflated in my closet too. Have a great week end. This is not meant to offend any one in any way.

I have heard some real horror stories involving fires. I get a sick feeling every time I smell smoke, wondering where the fire is.

No you can still send him I have left yet. I will teach him how to drive the boat. Then Roy and Carmen can go for a spin. I will stay on shore I don't want to know what those two will do. Have a great week end. I hate it when the power goes out, which is usually when it's dark. Have another idea for a Roy photo, so will have to blow him (up) again.
