So much sorrow

I am having trouble watching the Tv through my tears.

The floods in Queensland would tear at the heart strings of the toughest person.

The crisis is going to surpass the 1974 floods.

A friend of mine in Brisbane has sent me a photo of the empty shelves in a major Supermarket. Her flatmate's parents have lost their home, it is under water.

Thank you to all of our emergency services from every State, and a Big thank you to our neighbors in New Zealand for working under such conditions and danger to their own lives to try and save the stranded people, who would have no hope if it wasn't for them.

Please keep them all in your prayers, that no more lives are lost.

Don't feel bad, consider yourself lucky. Do you know how your town is fairing?
Maybe if it is possible, you should stay where you are for a while. Have just watched a special news, and there is no good news for the next few days.

I does seem like our worlds weather has gone a little mad, the past couple of years.
Lets just hope this isn't a trend, of things to come!
The emergency services are usually overlooked, at times like these.
It's nice to see, someone appreciates them.

Life isn't about how many breaths you take, but about the moments that take your breath away!

I watch ABC news almost the entire day and regularly check the Sunshine Coast Daily website for updates. I believe I couldnt go back if I wanted to because the Bruce Highway from Brissie airport was closed yesterday. I also suspect the my suburb which has only one access road may be cut off because the creek has flooded the junction with the nearest main road. But I think the creek would need to rise about 6m before I should start to worry.

But I still feel a bit bad because all I worry about is my swimming pool which I fear will be like pea soup when I eventually go back. I should be so lucky.

The world weather has defiantly gone more than a little mad.

In some places it was so bad that the emergency services couldn't even get there to help.

I'm a little worried about 'A'. It hadn't got that far down when I spoke to her yesterday. Waiting to hear back from her now.

As of last night, 75% of Queensland was flooded. It is hard to imagine that size of destruction, and they are predicting more damage.

I live in another State and up a mountain, so am safe.

I am waiting for the call for money and clothing donations. It will be Huge. Already have one bag full and am sure I can find more.
They also ask for toys to help comfort the children.

Sorry to hear you have had a flooded home, but great that you survived.

Thanks, but I think a bucket would have the same effect as trying to empty an overflowing bath tub with a thimble.

I am having trouble grasping the Huge area covered in so much water.
It is wonderful having such great neighbors as the New Zealanders.

And there was me thinking about a sea change.
Think I will stay up the mountain for a bit longer. We will probably be worrying about bush fires next Summer.

It is terrible, hard to believe. In some places there was no warning for the people to get to safety.

Have been at work so have only heard the radio. Will catch the news a bit later.
Have not heard your suburb mentioned, that's why I asked how it was going.
Don't need to worry about your swimming pool, you will be surrounded by swimming pools.
Hope your place will be safe. Please let me know when you find out.

At last count 'He' has taken 10 with nearly 100 missing. I hope he won't take any more.

Mother nature can be cruel at times. They say there is a reason for all things but sometimes it just doesn't make sense. We have had our fair share of natural disasters in recent times. I don't wish any of it on anyone. Stay safe. One of the greatest things to come out of this is the reaching out that people do to try and recover. I'm not sure we ever really do recover. we sort of move forward but the lasting effects continue.

Maybe in the future we will have some control over Mother Nature, until then, we will have to cope the best we can.

There are a lot of helpers. Just when you start to believe in Mankind, along come the looters. They would really have to be scum.

Going to get an update soon. Been at work, so hopefully there will be some good news.
Thank you, I am very safe. And to think I was getting tired of living in the Mountains.
