Huntsman spider
Huntsman spider We had ferocious winds and a touch of hail yesterday. Not at all what October is supposed to be. The cover had come off my BBQ, so thought I had better put it back on again. As I started to pull it back on, I noticed rather a lot of beady eyes looking at me. I promptly released the cover, with a slight scream leaving my lips. I went around the other side and started pulling it back on again...more beady eyes. I then decided that the cover being half on was better than not being on at all. Got up this morning, and it has come off yet again. I will do a stomp dance all over it, and replace it seeing as how the wind has gone. Speaking of spiders.....a while back I had finished my shower and was drying myself. I looked on the shower floor.....and there were body bits of spider every where. Yes the bloody thing was on my towel and I didn't see it. I nearly fainted. What have you done that makes you squirm? |

Treading on a slug in my bare feet, makes me cringe & go into lots of yuck, yuck, yucking all over the place, for about 10 minuets! Here's a little friend to help you eat the spiders!

Think I would have a heart attack if I found one of those in bed with me. We have cockroaches here too, I hate them. Maybe it was one of them that was eating into the Beaver. Have heard they can eat anything.

Have some patterns on the post holding up the patio where they have been. Love your little friend, just as long as he is only a pygmy dragon, not enough room for a full size one. Sure I could find it plenty of spiders to keep it full, especially the poisonous ones.

spiders do not bother me but with working out of doors all the time, i am constantly being bitten by them takes a long time for the itch to go away and the hard spot to get back to normal even when using ammonia on the bites, it takes a long time, glad I am not allergic to them

Never mind stepping on one getting out of bed....what's stopping them being IN the bed? Just seeing one would have been enough for me.

Probably funny to watch.

As long as the snakes are not poisonous, I am fine with them. Have held a few and had them round my neck. Prefer them to spiders and bugs any day. Would not go any where near a brown snake, large or small. Got home from work one day, and found my kitten wanting to play with a red belly. Had to try and get her away without her or me being bitten.

Yeah......I remember when I lived in NSW...so infested with spiders that every morning I could expect a new web across my doorway when I went out. We still have plenty in Qld but nowhere near as bad. Sir Teezalot WAR IS ABSURD

We have to be on the look out for the 'White Tail' spiders. Have found quite a few in the house, and they are a lot bigger than they say they grow to. Very nasty buggers.

Are any of your spiders poisonous? If one lands on me, I do a kinda dance, flapping arms, pulling at clothes and trying go get rid of any cobwebs that are on me. Probably funny to watch. You forget, I've seen you do it, when a rather larger spider fell on you, when we were sitting out on you verandah, remember?

Whilst I wouldn't say that I have a particular phobia of spiders any more, their erratic movements never cease to make me shiver lol How big is the spider you mentioned? Hey, come and view my blog: mygentlecaress It's complete crap but come on over anyway

I can’t really say I’m squeamish when it comes to creepy-crawly things, however, about two years ago this month I was up on a ladder pressure washing the gable end on my Mom’s house when a bee flew up the open leg of my shorts and violated that tender region. I squirmed, I danced, I bounced and hopped around. Does that count? H.

Probably funny to watch. most (for me) including the group of 'Writing Spiders' bite and something in the bite causes the area to swell, itch like crazy, and get hard-very very hard. Then in a few weeks the worst ones, a ball of dead tissue will fall out of a hole where the bite was... but then again...most would say that my bite is worse than my bark...

Pray tell (maybe) what had you squirming with laughter.

Trust me, it is funny to watch! You forget, I've seen you do it, when a rather larger spider fell on you, when we were sitting out on you verandah, remember? And you would not have done the same if it had of landed on you instead of me?

Whilst I wouldn't say that I have a particular phobia of spiders any more, their erratic movements never cease to make me shiver lol How big is the spider you mentioned? The White tail spider is only a smallish spider, but have seen them at least twice the size. They have a very painful bite that can eat into the tissue of the bite site, leaving large holes. Some clear up, but appear each year. They are a house spider, so you have to be alert.

a few are, like the brown recluse most (for me) including the group of 'Writing Spiders' bite and something in the bite causes the area to swell, itch like crazy, and get hard-very very hard. Then in a few weeks the worst ones, a ball of dead tissue will fall out of a hole where the bite was... but then again...most would say that my bite is worse than my bark... It is a flesh eating venom. A bit of a Vampire are you?

I can't stand roaches. They are even worse than spiders and snakes to me. I think the worst I ever jumped was years ago right after high school, I was working in a food warehouse. I was moving empty pallets around and as I lifted on up, this HUGH Rat stared directly at me and then jumped and hit me on my chest. You never saw a person run so fast as I did to get out of that place.

We have a few different types of roaches here, ranging from tiny ones to huge black flat bush ones. Some people keep the bush ones as pets.

Ok, maybe not the Huntsman, but there are a few poisonous reasons I wouldn't fancy living in Oz
