It wasn't to be!

It wasn't to be!

As you may know, from my 2nd from last post, that I had a very sickly pussycat.
Well, up until 2 weeks ago, she was on the mend, with the medication, the vet had prescribed for her.
Since then, it had been a downward struggle, to try & get her to eat.
She was living on, less than what would have kept a sparrow alive.
Well, things came to a head yesterday.
It got to the stage, that she wouldn't eat at all, had lost loads of weight & was unable to walk.
It came to the point, where I had to make the decision, of having her put down.
Trust me, it wasn't an easy decision.
She was my little baby.
She has showed me, more love & affection, than my so called loved one, has ever showed me.
After having her as part of my life, for over 10 yrs, I now feel so lost.
It was as though, part of me, died with her, when the vet gave her, her final injection.
Even after the very large amount of alcohol, that I have consumed tonight, I am still, far to sober & missing her, like crazy.
My heart is breaking & will continue to do so, for a very, very long time to come.

It is amazing how attached you can be to a pet. My dog is always waiting at the door for me, unlike the kids. Unconditional love they call it.

It was lucky that when I read your post on that face page, I had to run off to work, but now home and reading your blog, I'm crying my eyes out.

If I can't find a place to rent that will allow pets, I might have to go down the same road as you. I don't even want to think about it. I didn't look at one place, as they said no pets.

My baby will be 15 next month, but still thinks she is a kitten.

I am so so sorry. It's absolutely heartbreaking when a beloved pet dies. I hope you can get some comfort from knowing that she is no longer in pain.

I hope after an appropriate mourning interval you find another wonderful pet to share your life with.

I know, I know. At first you feel that you will never find another cat like the one you had. That is true, but getting a new, different cat is not always a bad thing.

My condolences.

Awww, big hugs
We've had a few of those decisions to make over the years with different pets in this household. Never gets any easier though

My cat used to sit waiting for me, at the window.
Or come in from the garden & meow till she found me.
I think it just goes to show, that animals, love & miss us the most.

Still crying my eyes out myself.
The house feels so empty without her.
Hope you manage to find somewhere, where the let you take her.
As you really don't want to do, what I had to do.

Thank-you.
I know it was the right thing to do.
But it still doesn't make me feel any better, for doing it!

I will almost certainly get myself another cat, in time.
I've always had a cat, in my life.
Just wish it didn't hurt so much, when they die.
