I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Everyone has their own way of dealing with grief - there are healthy ways, and not-so-healthy ways which have been displayed in my own family. One of my former brothers-in-law had been in hospice care, after having been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer just a little over a month ago. It had been several years since I last saw him, but I was still so saddened to hear the news. I am disappointed in myself that I didn't send a card to him, laughing about good times we had spent together. And, even though I expected that he would pass quickly, I was still shocked at how hard it hit me, and that I teared up immediately when my Sister called to tell me. It is so tough to lose those who have had a major impact on our lives. I hope your pain will be eased by the memories of many happy times together.
