Been There, Done That, Wrote About It

I have been here for many years, chatted and posted in groups for a couple years before I started my blog way back in 2011. Though I am no longer actively chatting or meeting people as much as I used to I still check into blogs quite often. I seldom see a topic that I hadn’t addressed sometime in the past. Hard for me not to just put a link to my blog written about the topic as a comment. I always hope that the blogger doesn’t feel like I am just trying to promote my own blog. I know some bloggers are competitive 🤔and don’t want to offend them by doing so. I just feel why re-write what I had already written.

So fellow bloggers, what do you think? Is it okay to refer readers of others’ blogs to posts on your own?

What about re-posting blogs? There is always a new audience with untapped opinions who probably never explore old blog posts.

No problem at all, if it was worthwhile the first time it will still be worthwhile now, most folks wouldn't have seen it the first time anyway after a certain amount of time. Just my thoughts.

Post a link to your blog... in the comment...
More importantly... repost it on your blog...
Nothing wrong with that. If you feel it's worthy and well done... why not? You'd gain new fans. That's why people publish books... So they can be read over and over again...
I'd read it... 📖😊

Hey Darlin,
I just came back here after a five year hiatus and I can’t believe how much the content has gone down! Since I’ve only put up two new posts since I returned I’d definitely refer people back to older ones, there’s a couple good stories in my back pages. I’m still basically the same person now as I was then, now I’m just a little older and hopefully a little wiser.

If you've already written a post that you want to link to - do it. If someone gets offended it is their problem not yours. There are a number of newer bloggers here who may not have seen posts prior to their joining.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I recently looked at some of my older (good lord I've been here a while) blogs because I'd seen some of the bloggers I follow repost some of their older ones... and I was like "who the hell was I then????" NONE of those blogs seem like they were written by the person I am now. So no... I probably won't be either reposting or linking old blogs of mine unless it's a funny picture post. I don't mind if someone posts a link on my blog tho, it's all about the interaction for me but so many bloggers now only want a stage, not feedback.

I agree that many of the topics are ones that I've seen before but sometimes my reactions are completely different from what they would have been 5 years ago!

In mind and spirit I have not changed over the years. My lifestyle, and of course, age and unfortunately, weight has. A little by choice, but also circumstances...some involuntary.

I have no problem with anyone adding links to their blog on mine. I generally will click on the link and maybe become a follower of the blogger after reading what they write.
